Quote Question
Read the two quotes below and tell me your thoughts. Don't forget your initials.
"If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be 'meetings'."
Dave Barry
"I've searched all the parks in all the cities and found no statues of committees."
Gilbert K. Chesterton
Hint: What are the quotes IMPLYING about meetings and committees?

History is NOT a Mystery
Wow! Congrats everyone. You all did a fantastic job with the Interview Project. I was impressed with your creative questions, interesting answers, and of course --- exceptional wardrobe choices!
Remember, you don't have to be burned at the stake or win a Noble Peace Prize to be a great leader. Just be yourself and the rest will happen.
Question of the week: Of all interviewed leaders --- which LEADER (not impersonator) do you admire the most and WHY. (you MAY vote for your own)

CROSSING GUARDS
Leadership for Life students have started helping in the community.
Each day a different student battles the elements to make sure elementary

Leadership Learns a Lesson
Friday, December 10th Leadership for Life students learned to "roll the dice".
The DICE determined what was under their respective Christmas TREES.
Some had lots of presents and others had none. Through sharing and giving, the learned a valuable lesson. Then, they opened their gifts and decided collectively do DONATE them to a hospital for sick children. (See Picture)
Side Note: Class - YOU MADE ME PROUD TODAY! - MP

The Dash Poem
By Linda Ellis
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end
He noted that the first came her date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show apppreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash
would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

Stratitude
Strategy: a plan of action or policy designed to achieve an overall purpose or intention.
Gratitude: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation.
Stratitude: Simply put, an imaginary technique whereby one learns to combine these two in order to adopt, hone and maintain a personal strategy of gratitude.
