History is NOT a Mystery

Wow! Congrats everyone. You all did a fantastic job with the Interview Project. I was impressed with your creative questions, interesting answers, and of course --- exceptional wardrobe choices!
Remember, you don't have to be burned at the stake or win a Noble Peace Prize to be a great leader. Just be yourself and the rest will happen.

Question of the week: Of all interviewed leaders --- which LEADER (not impersonator) do you admire the most and WHY. (you MAY vote for your own)

  1. I admire Rosa Parks because she was willing to go to jail in hopes to inspire others to stand up for African American rights. She caused the Montgomery Bus Boycott and was a leader of the NAACP in hopes to create a change. I feel as if she had caused a chain reaction in Alabama. Many more African Americans backed up her decision which finally helped to make a change in the segregational laws at the time. td (:

  2. I admire Oprah because she, herself, has gone through the most tragic things possible, yet she is tough inside, and out. She does't hold the memories on her shoulders, but she uses it as a boost, motivator, to help others that go through hard times. She has helped millions around the world and continues to spread her love...and money (: BP

  3. I admire Rosa Parks because she stood up or in her case "sat down" for what she believed was right. She was the epitome of the African American culture in her leading the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Parks is referred to as the Mother of the Civil Rights Movement... lM ;D :O ;)

  4. I would have to say Micheal Jordan. Reason being, he tried out for the varsity team his sophomore year and didn't make it because he was considered too short for that level. After his rejection, he wanted to prove he could be on the varsity team by becoming the star of the junior varsity team. That following summer he grew in height and trained vigorously. He then made the varsity team at his school.
Basically, he had a dream of making varsity and he didn't let failure keep him from getting a varsity spot. He not only got the spot the following year, but he also was an amazing player. (:

  5. Uhhhh, well let's see. I would have to say oprah too, reason being, starting at a young age she was constantly dealing with hardships in her life. While most people would give up and accept a terriable life, but she used it as a motivation to make it where she is today. I think if everyone had half the work ethic she did this world would be a way different place. (: ......aw

  6. I think the most inspirirng leader out of them all was Jackie Kennedy. The reson for this is that she was always working hard behind her husband for the things that she believed in, she didn't get discouraged when no one recognized her. She also found that liturature and arts were her passion and actually did something with it. (: --eb

  7. I feel Oprah is a very inspiring leader. She definitely didn't have it easy growing up, but she overcame that and made something out of herself. I admire now how she donates to many organizations to try and better life for those less fortunate like she once was. Oprah is also very good at getting the word out about different problems and accidents to warn people in case it happens to them or to prevent them from happening. -ke

  8. I admire King Arthur the most. Although most of the stories of King Arthur are folklore, he must have inspired many people for his name to have lasted this long. The stories behind King Arthur stem from many different kingdoms and empires and all depict him as a wonderful leader. One of a leader's main goals is to inspire others, and there numberous movies and books that prove he did just that. kc :)

  9. Carrie Underwood was the leader that surprised me the most. I'm so impressed with her ability to stay grounded and hold on to her humility and charity while rising almost overnight to one of the most famous names in entertainment. She's an incredibly inspiring singer and songwriter as well as a dedicated charity worker and vegetarian. It's awesome to see famous people use that to the advantage of society. -ee

  10. I think the most inspiring leader would be Oprah because of all the problems she has had but she still holds a tv show to help others and talk about their problems. She helps so many people and does so many charity things it is insane. She can talk about her past problems to help others and she takes a lot of heat for it. She donates to many organizations and has came along way from her childhood.

  11. The most inspiring leader to me would be Rosa Parks. She put her own life in danger just to stand up for what she believed in. Black people were treated terrible and she wanted that to change so she started the Montgomery Bus Boycott. She was put in jail just so that black people could have the same rights as white people on the bus. Her not giving up her seat started a huge movement during that time. Many people backed her up and followed her in standing up for what they believe was the right thing. Doing the right thing and following your heart is something she taught me to do. ks

  14. I think Jackie Kennedy was one of the best leaders because of her support for her husband, as well as her determination to complete tasks important to her too. While she was First Lady, she pursued matters on her own even as she took care of her children and supported her husband immensely. -- CH

  17. I find Oprah to be one of the greatest leaders. As said by some others above, she started out with a very tough life. However, she did not let this stop her. She made something of herself and is now the richest woman on earth. Not only did she completely change her own life, but she is now touching the lives of many others. Her determination and generosity make her an amazing leader. bm
